With the upcoming release of World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King next Thursday, the 13th, Blizzard has announced that there will be many midnight openings which will start to sell the games at 12:00am local time.
However, these openings, to me, don’t seem to be that special. Today, a list of the stores that would be open was released onto the World of Warcraft website, but if you look at the list, most of the shops are Tesco stores which are open 24 hours a day anyway, the only exceptions are a few HMV stores which will be opening for the occasion, the biggest one being the London HMV which will have some of the developers of the game signing copies for gamers.
The list of HMV stores opening are as follows:
Aberdeen – 113 Union Bridge, AB11 6BE
Birmingham – The Fort Unit 2, The Fort Shopping Park , 20 Fort Parkway, B24 9FP
Cardiff – Unit 4, 53-57 Queens Street, CF10 2AS
Leeds – Victoria Walk, Headrow Centre, LS1 6JD
Liverpool – 5 South Johns Street, L1 8BU
London – 150 Oxford Street, W1D 1DJ
Manchester – 90/100 Market Street, M1 1PD
Newcastle Upon Tyne – 56 Northumberland Street, NE1 7AE
Southampton – 56/58 Above Bar Street, SO14 7DS
St Helier – c/o Voisins, 32 King Street, JE4 8NF
St Peter Port – Unit 8, Market Building, GY1 1HE
All the HMV stores will open at 11:45pm local time and the full list of open stores can be found here.
