Earlier this year, news and rumours were spread across the internet after it had been found that Blizzard, creators of the massively popular World of Warcraft game, had filed several trademark and patent applications for terms that all included the word “Cataclysm”. Well today, at BlizzCon, their true intentions for their “Cataclysm” project have been announced, and it comes in the form of a new expansion for the game.
The new expansion, World of Warcraft: Cataclysm, was announced along with a large number of expected features during this year’s BlizzCon.
Along with a number of other features, the new expansion will feature a new level cap of 85, which I am surprised about as all the other expansions have been a 10 level jump rather than this 5. The game will also include 2 brand new races. For the Horde, they will get Goblins and on the Alliance side, they will be getting Worgen.
It was also announced that there will be some new race class combos allowing gamers to play as a Tauren Paladin, Night Elf Mage and a Human Hunter.
As with the other expansions, this new one will still be coming with all the new quests, skills, mounts, dungeons and raids to keep you entertained as you travel across the new landscape that has been altered due to some sort of terrible event.
I would have thought that the announcement has come a little too late in the year to be releasing the game before Christmas, but you never know, they may try and push it out for the Christmas market.
You can visit the World of Warcraft: Cataclysm official website for more information about each of the new classes and what to expect in the new game.

This new expansion looks awesome! WoTLK was a little disappointing but the game is still very good overall.
