Something strange has been going on over at the Lionhead website this week. I first came across it after a message was posted on Twitter with simply a link to the Lionhead website.
On visiting the Lionhead website, I was greeted by a big black and white picture of Che Guevara and a very large number 6 next to his head. Underneath the image, was a quote from the guy himself, followed by a thumbs up and a thumbs down.
When you click on the thumbs up, it takes you to the main Lionhead page with the word “Followers” within the URL string. Once again your are greeted with the large image of Che, the page also has a red background with 2 banners, one on each side, with a number of bullet holes in both. But no explanation for what they are doing.
On the other hand, if you were to go back and press the thumbs down link, you are also taken to the Lionhead main page, but things have changed. This time in the URL string, it says “Subjects” and the page style has changed. This time the background is blue and the banners have also changed colour, this time with no bullet holes.
Ever since that happened 3 days ago, the image of a famous person, and their quote, has changed. On the second day it was Maximilien Robespierre along with a number 5. This was then followed yesterday by a picture of Abraham Lincoln, alongside the number 4. Today, it features Aristotle with the number 3.
Every day the number counts down, the quote and person changes, but also, the length the banners go down the page also changes, no doubt revealing something once the countdown is over.
But what does this all mean? What are the makers of the brilliant Fable 2 game trying to get us talking about? The only thing I can say is that is has something to do with GamesCon that’s being held in Germany next week. When the countdown began at number 6, it was 6 days before Peter Molyneux is due to speak at the Microsoft conference at GamesCon. Once again, it looks like a waiting game before we will hear anything, they love doing that. It’s definitely going to be interesting hearing what the guys at Lionhead have for us gamers next.
Hopefully it will be more fable dlc.
That would be good, but I would personally like to see an entirely new game, it would seem like a bit of a big build up for a bit of DLC
Its fable 3, its been anounced for late next year!!!
