Last Friday, Traveller’s Tales released their latest game, Lego Batman. So I have spent the weekend playing and completing the latest Lego game, but is it really as good as it should be?
This is the 5th Lego game that Traveller’s Tales has released, and not much has changed since the first one, the game play and style has not changed a bit, in one way this is an advantage, but all the problems with the games like, bad jumping, poor AI and general glitches are still in the latest game.
All this aside, the games are great to play, especially Lego Batman. Whether you are a fan of Lego or a Batman fan, this game appeals to both. Unlike other Lego games, Lego Batman does not follow the story line of any Batman film, this gives all the Batman fans a new storyline to Batman and for Lego fans, you get the funny and brilliant games to play. However, the story line is nothing special, a few random villains trying to take over the world and Batman saving the day. The guys at Traveller’s Tales could have put a little bit more effort into creating the storyline or considering following the film storyline.
However, even with the down sides, this latest addition to the Lego games is a must play, and for the future, I would personally like to see a Lego Spiderman game. I believe that the storyline and playability is there.
I can see why they didn’t follow the films. Batman is such a huge franchise that it would be difficult to stay faithful to the kid/family friendliness of Lego and the darkness of the current films. Additionally, all the Lego games are light and humourous. I love the Lego games and have spent many happy hours playing them.
Yeh I agree with you, it would be hard for them to put their humorous spin on such a dark story line, either way, the Lego team did a great job on this game, just like all the others.
The game sounds simple yet pretty entertaining. I think Lego did a great work because most of the people may prefer a simple lego game over any complex story based games.
I also think simple games are more entertaining than the complex ones. The most amazing thing about these simple Lego games is that you can enjoy it with your family and have fun all together.
Yeh I totally agree with you, it brings the family together if you can all play a game like this. Plus they way that they have included humour into the game is great!
Yep LEGO Batman was yet another good LEGO game, I can’t wait for the LEGO Harry Potter game to come out. Right now LEGO Indiana Jones is still my favorite though.

Ive always found lego amazing – how they can craft so many cool toys out of those simple building blocks I’ll never know! Anyway, as many people above mentioned, that Lego Batman rocks!

The thing with lego games isn’t to recreate the movies perse, it is more to take the characters that they know kids love, turn them into lego, then allow the kids to just “be” batman or whatever character any of the other games are about!
Lego Rocks

I’m a really big fan of lego games and so is my son. This game just made the two of us happy and it brought us together too. Funny how these simple toys makes a whole family closer.
