Valve Announce Left 4 Dead DLC

Left 4 DeadNo one would have expected this piece of news, especially with the release of Left 4 Dead 2 looming. However, today, Valve have announced that they will be releasing their second download pack for gamers this September named as ‘Crash Course’.

This new pack will include a new single and co-op player campaign mission as well as a new map called ‘Crash’ which you can play online on the various game modes.

I say no one would have expected this pack because Valve are not one’s for rushing games. When you consider that Half Life 1 was released back in 1998 and then they released the second game 6 years later in 2004, it shows they like to put thought into the production of their games (that’s most likely why they are so damn good). However, Left 4 Dead has been different for them.

They released the game in November 2008 with huge success, they then released a download pack for the Xbox and PC back in April. Then at Expo 09, Valve announced they will be releasing Left 4 Dead 2 in November 2009! Now that’s quick turn around for them. But now to add more to the mix, they have announced a second DLC pack coming in September.

No doubt they are trying (and succeeding) to keep gamers occupied with Left 4 Dead while they carry on adding the finishing touches for Left 4 Dead 2.

Although this is good news for the fans of the game, some won’t welcome this pack as much as the first, mainly the 360 gamers. This is because Valve are now charging Xbox gamers for the pack whereas it’s going to be free for the PC gamers (lucky us!). Unlike the first pack which was given away free for both machines, the Xbox 360 version of the new ‘Crash Course’ pack will have to 560 Microsoft Points. I’m sure people will still pay the small fee for the content though.

However, I'll play pretty much all genres of games, anything from Guitar Hero 5 to Lego Harry Potter, they're all great!

  1. Yet more bloody adventures with Zoey, Bill, Francis and Louis. Will they be joined by other human survivors?
