Ubisoft released their full year financial results today and boast a healthy 14% rise in sales.
The gaming giant released revenues for the fourth quarter of 2008-2009 of €206 million which is just over 5% under the fourth quarter of 2007-2008. This aside, they also announced their full yearly revenues for 2008-2009 which reached a whopping €1,058 million which is an increase of 14% on last years revenues of €928.
Ubisoft said that this was largely down to an increase of sales from the Wii, as well as strong sales from games like Tom Clancy’s HAWX.
That’s not all though, Ubisoft also gave some projected sales for the financial year to come, they predict that their total years revenues could reach €1.1 billion, lucky them, as they hope to see large interest in their franchise titles such as Assassins Creed 2, Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell Conviction, Red Steel 2 and Ghost Recon 4. So what this means for us gamers is that we can look foward to some great new game releases in the upcoming months and hopefully games like Assassins Creed 2 and Splinter Cell Conviction will be released earlier in the financial year rather than towards the end.
