After around 4 years in development, Namco Bandai has finally announced a release date for Tekken 6.
The game, which was announced alongside the Playstation 3 at the 2005 E3 Expo, is set for release on the Xbox 360 and PS3 in North America on October 27th. As for other regions like Europe and Asia, although no date has been given, Namco Bandai has said that they will follow closely behind.
Namco also had a bit of extra news to announce aswell. To go with the release date they announced 2 different pre-order packs that you can buy.
The first one being the Tekken 6 Wireless Fight Stick pack which as the name suggests, comes with a new Hori fight stick for your console, the pack also contains a Tekken 6 art book. This pack is available for both the Xbox 360 and the PS3 and will retail for $149.99.
As for the second pack, this one will come at no additional price, no reason not to get it really, and is exclusive to GameStop. In this pack you will get the downloadable ‘Penny Arcade Samurai Pack’ which includes a Cardboard Tube Samurai costume for Yoshimitsu aswell as some Battle Banners which you can apply to any of the fighters in-game. That’s not all, you also get a 2009 – 2010 Tekken 6 calender, all for the standard retail price.
You certainly get some nice bonuses by pre-ordering and I will certainly be watching out for a release date for Europe as we haven’t seen a Tekken game on this generation of consoles, so I’m eager to see how it will play out.
It’s hard to believe this is still going!
