The latest edition to the Guitar Hero franchise has been released this week, and it can only be described in one word really, ‘Wow!’ When Activision first announced their lineup for 2009, I was surprised because they were releasing so many new Guitar Hero games and I was concerned that they wouldn’t really be up to good standards if they were releasing so many. However, they have proven me wrong with this latest release. For Activision, the new Guitar Hero 5 game is the latest ‘template’ for their upcoming games, what this means is that all the smaller games made from now on will be built from this latest game, which is great. Previously, the template for their games had…
If you have read some of my previous posts within the past year, you may have noticed that I am a big fan of the music games, in particular Rock Band. I have always found Rock Band to be a personal favorite over the likes of Guitar Hero: World Tour. However, what they have in game quality, is not matched in peripherals. The only thing that I have found to not like about the Rock Band games is the guitars. I can’t quite put my finger on the problem but they are just not the same as the classic Guitar Hero 3 ones. As for the drums, I love the drums, they are a brilliant piece of gaming kit. That…
With the huge number of games already set for release within the upcoming months, it’s going to be tough for people to afford all of them, especially the ones that include bonus controllers. (cough cough, all of Activision’s). But yesterday there was some good news for gamers. Yesterday Activision announced that when you buy any copy of Guitar Hero 5, from any retailer, you would receive a code within the manual of the game for a free copy of Guitar Hero: Van Halen prior to official release in December. When you get your copy of Guitar Hero 5, all you would have to do is sent off your code either by post or by entering the code online via the…
Activision simply won’t stop. Yet another premium bundle has been announced for one of their upcoming game releases. Just a few weeks after the announcement of their over the top Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 Prestige Edition, they have announced the release of their DJ Hero Renegade Edition. This game already comes with a brand new controller but it’s now coming in two versions. With the standard game for £90, you will be getting the game and the DJ turntable controller. As for the Renegade edition, this pack will come with a premium DJ turntable (simply it’s black and gold coloured), but you will also get a hard shell case for you to store your turntable controller. Not just…
If you’re fed up of hearing about plastic controllers for games, you may want to look away now because another addition to the plastic collection has been detailed. The upcoming Guitar Hero 5 drum kit is the latest controller to be announced and will join the line up of games that will be coming with plastic controllers this year, which include, DJ Hero, The Beatles: Rock Band and Tony Hawks: Ride. I personally am glad to see a new Guitar Hero drum kit because the first one released looked too light weight and not very durable, that’s the reason why I never bought one. However, this new kit has been improved to make it stronger and more easier to play….
