Call Of Duty is a franchise that started way back in 2003 and dived into what Medal of Honour had already been doing in simulating the infantry efforts in WW2. Since the first game we have had COD 2, 3,4 (modern warfare), world at war, modern warfare 2 and Black Ops and this is only including the main games in the franchise. My question to all is should this franchise now stop? I know I am going to get a lot of angry COD fans on me for this one but I am a fan myself and I have just had enough of playing the same game over and over again, surely there are other gamers that are not feeling...

Since gaming has been pretty bleak this summer with the only highlight of my gaming calendar in July and early August being Lego Harry Potter: Year 1 -4, I think it was time to look ahead and report on what games to watch out for on the run up to Christmas 2010. From the looks of the upcoming games you’ll see below, 2010 is very much a year of the sequels. I personally don’t have a problem with this, as long as it was a good game to begin with and they don’t screw it up, I’m perfectly happy playing a second or even third generation of a game. That aside, I’ll begin. Mafia 2 I’m eagerly awaiting my copy...

These days, more often than not, when you go to buy a new game that is projected to be a medium to large release in the gaming calendar, you’ll find that you have a variety of options to choose from. Obviously you get the standard game on it’s own for about £40. However, you’ll also find a Special Edition and maybe even a Collectors Edition. Over the past few years, this has become more popular when releasing a game with each time one of these Collector Editions being released, the item you get with it is yet more elaborate. Halo 3 is one of the big releases that I always remember as they had a series of different ‘bundles’ you...

A few years ago, Medal of Honor was one of the best first person shooter games you could buy, but then with the introduction of games like Battlefield: Bad Company and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, Medal of Honor seemed to disappear and their traditional World War 2 games were shadowed by modern combat. However, at the beginning of December, EA announced a brand new type of Medal of Honor game, one that looks to compete with the modern big guns of Call of Duty. www.youtube.com/watch?v=czDu97cMSIY After 10 years of the classic World War 2 games, EA are taking gamers to the front line of Afghanistan in a brand new first person shooter game where you will play as a...

Ubisoft, creators of the popular Splinter Cell series, have announced today that they will be delaying the release of Splinter Cell: Conviction, along with a number of other games, until the beginning of 2010. Along with the latest Splinter Cell game, they are also delaying Red Steel 2, now both are planned for an early 2010 release. Also, they are delaying I Am Alive and the next Ghost Recon game, however, these games are pushed back even further with possible release dates expected to be around 2011. This news came as quite a surprise considering all the hype at this years E3, also, a new trailer was released just a week ago. Even though this news came as quite a...

It was recently announced that the upcoming Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 game is being released with 3 different bundles options, the standard, the hardened edition and finally the over the top, prestige edition. At the time this was announced, no UK retailers were listing the hardened edition and the prestige edition, however, things have now changed. It’s been announced that HMV will be getting exclusive rights to sell the prestige edition for the PS3 and Xbox 360 at a price of £120. Not only is this game exclusive to HMV, but it’s also an online exclusive because HMV won’t be offering the game for sale in stores. The game was released onto their store yesterday and I’m not...

With all the worlds economies going down the pan, you don’t really want to hear the answer to the question “Is gaming getting more expensive?” because unfortunately, it seems that it is. We all know that prices for games like Rock Band and Guitar Hero are expensive because they come with more controllers and this has increased the price of gaming. However, what about your standard £40 game? Although we would have all preferred the £30 price of games for the old generation of consoles like the PS2 and the Xbox, but, inevitably, a price rise came along for the next-gen consoles in the form of £10. However, is this price about to go up again? I ask this because...

We all know that Activision always go crazy with big bundles when they release a brand new Guitar Hero game, however, this craziness has never really spread to any of their other games. Until now. Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 has now inherited that craziness with it’s 3 different game bundles. The bundles were announced via a YouTube video by Robert Bowling, from Infinity Ward, who detailed all 3 of the packages. The first bundle, which isn’t really a bundle because it’s just the standard game, is perfect for anyone that wants to grab the game and play. For those of you that enjoy looking at all the art work, there is the Hardened Edition. The Hardened Edition is...

After just 2 years of being released, Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare has generated an online population of over 15 million gamers. This news comes from Robert Bowling, part of the Infinity Ward team, when he collected the Video Game BAFTAs earlier this month. He also said that of those 15 million, 11 million were Xbox 360 users and the other 4 million were PS3, however, he didn’t say how many PC players there were, so does that mean there aren’t alot of PC players, or he simply didn’t say. By the sounds of that news, Xbox 360 gamers are just love the Call of Duty games, however, with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 set for release near...
