These days, more often than not, when you go to buy a new game that is projected to be a medium to large release in the gaming calendar, you’ll find that you have a variety of options to choose from. Obviously you get the standard game on it’s own for about £40. However, you’ll also find a Special Edition and maybe even a Collectors Edition. Over the past few years, this has become more popular when releasing a game with each time one of these Collector Editions being released, the item you get with it is yet more elaborate. Halo 3 is one of the big releases that I always remember as they had a series of different ‘bundles’ you…

If you thought Activision had finished announcing Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 bundles, you were wrong. Today, Activision and Microsoft have announced a special edition Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Xbox 360 Elite bundle, available all around the world. This means that Modern Warfare 2 will join the small list of games that have their very own styled console. Some already on the list include Halo 3 and Resident Evil 5. However, this latest limited edition console seems to be better than all the others. The entire bundle will come with a limited edition, Modern Warfare 2 styled, black Xbox 360 console, a 250GB hard drive, two black wireless Xbox 360 controllers, an official black headset, and finally,…

Guitar Hero 5 Game Review

The latest edition to the Guitar Hero franchise has been released this week, and it can only be described in one word really, ‘Wow!’ When Activision first announced their lineup for 2009, I was surprised because they were releasing so many new Guitar Hero games and I was concerned that they wouldn’t really be up to good standards if they were releasing so many. However, they have proven me wrong with this latest release. For Activision, the new Guitar Hero 5 game is the latest ‘template’ for their upcoming games, what this means is that all the smaller games made from now on will be built from this latest game, which is great. Previously, the template for their games had…

Wolfenstein Game Review

Getting this game was a spur of the moment thing,  I never really planned to buy it but after quite a slow July for game releases, I just picked it off the shelf and went for it, and I’m glad I did. Not only are the graphics and weapons great, but the storyline is exciting and lengthy at the same time. You start off the game by viewing a cinematic action scene where special agent B.J. Blazkowicz (the main character and the role you will play in the game) is causing trouble on a German Nazi battleship. Within this cinematic Blazkowicz finds a special medallion with unknown powers. After this cinematic, you find that the medallion yields the power of…

Written by Scrooby on 21st August, 2009

Earlier this year, news and rumours were spread across the internet after it had been found that Blizzard, creators of the massively popular World of Warcraft game, had filed several trademark and patent applications for terms that all included the word “Cataclysm”. Well today, at BlizzCon, their true intentions for their “Cataclysm” project have been announced, and it comes in the form of a new expansion for the game. The new expansion, World of Warcraft: Cataclysm, was announced along with a large number of expected features during this year’s BlizzCon. Along with a number of other features, the new expansion will feature a new level cap of 85, which I am surprised about as all the other expansions have been…
