Street Fighter 4 LogoAfter hearing about the upcoming release of a new Street Fighter game, I was not sure if it could contend with other next-gen fighting titles such as Dead or Alive. After buying the game on Friday I soon released that not only does it compete, but it’s the best. When you first put the game in, you get this kick ass opening movie which looks amazing, plus,  if you have a HDTV, this scene deserves  to be treasured and watched every time you switch on the game.

Now onto the game, this new street-fighter game come with many old characters such as Ken and Ryu. However, there are also several new characters such as Crimson Viper. Although the characters are great, with only a few different game modes it doesn’t take long to finish. There is an arcade mode where choose a character and get a very basic story which has a total of two movie scenes and always the same boss; I just used it a way to practice my combos for online play. But then you take the game online and this is where the game really starts to shine. It’s so addictive and even though there is a limited number of combos, no match I have played has ever been the same, plus, with different levels of players its never gets old especially when you build up your revenge meter to unleash a deadly attack.

Now to the gameplay, sticking to the original 2d style fighting it is easy to get used to the controls but will take quite sometime before you are pulling of the ultra combos while under the pressure of battle. I will admit that I do wish that there was a decent arcade stick for the Xbox 360.

Street Fighter 4Now to the graphics and audio. Capcom have worked really hard on the animations of the characters as you can see the characters flinch when you kick then straight in face. One of the characters even cries when you hit him. The fighting backgrounds could have done with more things going on, you don’t really notice them. This game isn’t lacking in the movie scenes, with most characters having one at the beginning and one at the end but that’s not why we play STREET FIGHTER is it? Now onto the audio, I would say its above average but there is one song that stands out me. This is the song to the opening sequence it is called The Next Door by EXILE.

Overall Summary: Amazing game at current standing a good contender for the fighting game of the year.

Bad points are the lack of story and things to do.

Good points is the gameplay and definitely online.

I give this game  9.5/10
