A couple of new Xbox 360 accessories have been released to coincide with game releases, but once I got my hands on them, I found the age ratings to be pretty stupid. These accessories are the GTA 4 The Lost and Damned 1600 Points Card and the Xbox Live 12 Month Halo Wars Gold Subscription Card + 1 Month Bonus.
To begin with, all other Xbox 360 subscription and points cards are not given an age rating, but simply because the 2 cards I’m talking about have the picture of the game on the front, they are given an age rating.
I’ll start with the GTA Points Card, this is given an 18+ age rating, but why? Obviously it’s because they are meant to be spent on the new GTA 4 content, but they don’t need to be, they are simply Microsoft Points. So although it can be understandable to put an age rating on it, but it also seems rather stupid to do that.
The other one, and has to be the stranger one, is the Halo Wars Special Xbox Live Subscription Card, this one is given an age rating of 16+ and this has to be only because it has the Halo Wars picture on the front, but really, why?! It is simply an Xbox Live Subscription Card, it has nothing to do with the actual game, only that you can play it online, but that would be the same with every subscription card, they would all have to have 18+ ratings. So why does this one have the age rating?
When I saw these, they really got me annoyed, for some reason. But if anyone has any idea why these carry the ratings, please please please, enlighten me.
