Rock Band 2 or Guitar Hero World Tour?

After some slight stock problems, I finally received my Rock Band 2 yesterday from Game. This means I can now compare Rock Band 2 and Guitar Hero World Tour.

Guitar Hero World TourLets start off with Guitar Hero. Like I said in my previous post, the customisation in the game is brilliant, you can customise everything from hair colour to mic stand.

A very good point I found in Guitar Hero that’s not in Rock Band is the ability to pause the game during a long note, and as you go back into the game, it does a countdown and that allows you to continue playing that note without cutting the note short because you paused it, you’ll see what I mean, but it’s a really good feature.

Another good point on Guitar Hero is that you have a bass career, but in my opinion those 2 things are the only points Guitar Hero has over Rock Band. Personally, the set list on Guitar Hero is rather rubbish, until you get to the last group that is. There are a few songs between the beginning and the end that are good, but not many.

Now onto Rock Band 2. I always thought that Rock Band 1 was amazing, and Harmonix have not let me down with Rock Band 2.

When you start to play Rock Band 2 after Guitar Hero, you will notice some songs. I have noticed around 6 songs so far that are in Rock Band 2 and Guitar Hero, including Eye Of The Tiger and Livin’ On A Prayer, which are good really so I can’t complain about those ones. But overall, I thought the Rock Band 2 set list was alot better than Guitar Hero.

Rock Band 2Then there is the layout and design. I personally prefer the layout of Rock Band, everything is more visible, you can easily continue playing the game and have the score multiplier and crowd meter in sight.

Overall I think Rock Band 2 is the better game, the song list is alot better and the whole layout of the screen is more organised which is the 2 main things really, Guitar Hero may have alot more customisation, but just because your character and guitar looks good, it doesn’t really matter when your playing a rubbish song.
