As a huge fan I have been playing the games since Resident Evil for the PS1, I have seen the games evolve with the times and become a huge franchise. So I couldn’t wait for the new Resident Evil game to come out so I could see what this one had to other and let me just say that it doesn’t disappoint.

Resident Evil 5

Now onto the game, the new Resident Evil follows the story of Chris Redfield and Sheva Aloma who are part of international agency known as the BSAA, they travel to Africa to capture a terrorist but in the process discover a more sinister plot in their search for the truth. In fairness the new Resident Evil game is no longer scary, it’s more of an action game but an amazing one at that. This game will keep you on the edge of your seat as you try to unravel the truth behind it all.

Now onto the game play. Sticking with Resident Evil 4, the control set-up has upset many people with them saying that they should offer a more modern control set-up like gears of war where you can move and shoot. However, in my opinion, it would ruin it all if you could run and shoot the game would become to easy. You need the sense of panic when deciding to run or fight from the wave of zombies heading towards you. It also makes reply on your partner alot. Which leads us onto Sheva as an AI Sheva is one of the best up to date and Capcom have done really well at this. She is not like Ashley she will not just shout for help constantly and always die. She will hold her own in a fight. But will often steal the ammo for her guns but any ammo she doesn’t need comes straight to you. Also resident evil 5 is very linear you can’t come back to old sections like in other resident evil games which does suck. Now the online co-op is definitely something that doesn’t suck. This is where the game is made and praised, hook up with one of your mates and you will be playing for hours.

Now the Graphics and Audio. The visual in Resident Evil 5 are amazing the movies and in game graphics look fantastic with so much detail going into everything. The audio is basically what you expect from a survival horror, but it is nothing special.

Overall, Resident Evil 5 is a fantastic game great graphics and a cool story line. (With out spoiling anything was annoyed they changed the look of a certain character.)

Good points = great co op and great story

Bad points = very linear

I give this game a 9/10

  1. The movement of the game always turned me off it, i find it silly how you can’t move and shoot at the same time but that obviously makes the game more enjoyable for some people.
I do like one way Capcom promoted the game, they placed fake (I hope) body parts in London, and the person who collected the most won a trip to Africa. You could just imagine, someone running around London with a shopping trolley of ody parts.
