Prince Of Persia Review

Prince of PersiaWhen I first heard that there was a new Prince of Persia on the way I was excited after being a huge fan of the original Prince of Persia trilogy. I wanted to see what the next gen one would be like and i am sorry to say but I am extremely disappointed. That doesn’t mean that this is a bad game its actually an alright game.

The new story is not that complex; you are fighting to keep the god of darkness banished. To do this you travel around the world banishing the darkness one section at a time. By the end of the game it gets very repetitive and boring. You also feel no real connection to the characters in this game.

Now to the good part, the game-play. The acrobatics in this game are amazing, they feel so much smoother than the old Prince of Persia. The combat in this game looks amazing you can pull off some really cool combos and because you are only fighting one enemy at a time, they do it in a cinematic style which looks really really cool. Even though this combat looks really cool I still prefer the old style where you have lots of enemies attacking you. I was disappointed with how simple and easy they made this game, there are only two puzzles and the fact that you can’t die made it quite boring for me.

My summary:

Overall the new Prince is an alright game. It is nothing special and will have to improve a lot before it can be compared to the old trilogy. We’ll have to wait for the sequel to see if it gets better. The visuals and audio are alright but nothing special. The best thing about this game is the acrobatics. Overall i give this game 8/10.
