Gears of War 2 Review

Written by Scrooby on 10th November, 2008

Overall, I think Gears of War 2 is an amazing game and has to be one of the best shooters on the Xbox 360. When you start this new game you are thrown straight into the action with your buddies Dom, Baird and Cole in another attempt at defeating the vile Locust. As you fight your way through group after group of Locust throughout the game, you can see some of the great new features that they have built in. The first new things you see would have to be the new weapons, one being the great shield, you can move behind this without being hit or blown up, you can then dig it into the group for a bit…

Guitar Hero World Tour Review

Written by Scrooby on 6th November, 2008

I received Guitar Hero World Tour and Gears of War 2 this morning and just had to start playing Guitar Hero, and after I write this I will be moving on Gears, which I shall write about soon, now onto Guitar Hero. I was impressed by all the customizations that you can make, but not so by the song list, in the beginning that is. When you first load up the game you see have to create a new band, and like Rock Band, you are able to give it a name, create and customise a logo. After you have created your band you can then move onto making your own fully customisable character and instrument. Once into your career,…

WoW Midnight Openings

Written by Scrooby on 4th November, 2008

With the upcoming release of World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King next Thursday, the 13th, Blizzard has announced that there will be many midnight openings which will start to sell the games at 12:00am local time. However, these openings, to me, don’t seem to be that special. Today, a list of the stores that would be open was released onto the World of Warcraft website, but if you look at the list, most of the shops are Tesco stores which are open 24 hours a day anyway, the only exceptions are a few HMV stores which will be opening for the occasion, the biggest one being the London HMV which will have some of the developers of the…

Rock Band 2 Pre-order

Written by Scrooby on 4th November, 2008

The Rock Band 2 software has recently become available for pre-order in many retailers, including, Game, HMV, Play.com, Zavvi and Amazon.co.uk. The game is available from £38-£50 so check out each of those sites to see which one will get you the best bargain. In my opinion, this comes rather late considering there is less than 3 weeks until it’s release on November 21st, so anyone wanting to pre-order the game will have to get their skates on. Remember though, this is just the software, the instruments are not included, the release date for the instruments is still unknown, but expected to be around the beginning of December. Also, this is just for the Xbox 360 and the other platforms…

Mirror’s Edge Demo

Written by Scrooby on 3rd November, 2008

The demo for the upcoming EA game, Mirror’s Edge, has been released on the Playstation Network and the Xbox Live Marketplace. I was unsure if I would buy this one but after playing the demo, I definitely will, from what I have seen so far, it’s a good game, great graphics and it’s something different to add to the shelf, not just a usual FPS game. The release date for Mirror’s Edge is November 14th, so get your pre-order in soon, also, if you pre-order from Game, you get a free T-Shirt.
