As many people already know, the final sets of downloadable maps for Halo 3 are being released soon. The pack is called the Mythic Map Pack and contains 3 maps called: ‘Sandbox’, ‘Orbital’ and ‘Assembly’. Just the names alone don’t really get you excited, but here’s some quotes from Bungie about the new maps and what to expect.
Sandbox
“Combines large-scale vehicular combat with a limitless amount of Forge customization. Boasting a tiered, open-world layout, Halo 3 players will be able to build their own unique game experiences using the Forge map editor. Sandbox is a map unlike any Bungie has ever created.”
Assembly
“Set in the heart of a Covenant Scarab manufacturing facility. With two identical bases on either side of this medium-sized map, it’s a perfect environment for both Slayer and objective games like Capture the Flag and Assault.”
Orbital
“A small asymmetrical map, set in the docking station of the Quito Space Tether. One-sided games like One Flag, and One Bomb are sure to become quick fan-favourites, but the Slayer faithful will also find plenty of action on this battleground.”
By the sounds of it, these maps should be awesome to play, but, how do you get them? Like with the other maps released, you will be able to purchase them through the Xbox Live Marketplace using the good old Microsoft Points, however, with this map pack, there is another way. If you buy the new Halo Wars Limited Collector’s Edition game, you will get the Mythic Map Pack free with it! Sounds like a very tempting reason to buy the collectors edition if you ask me.
Halo Wars is released on Febuary 27th, don’t miss out!
