Activision have today announced some details about the the upcoming game, Guitar Hero 5. The major details that were released was that the game is going to arrive in Autumn for the Xbox 360, Playstation 3, Playstation 2 and the Nintendo Wii.
The upcoming Guitar Hero 5 will contain 85 master recordings of which will contains songs from artists that include Bob Dylan, Tom Petty, The Rolling Stones, Johnny Cash, The White Stripes, Santana, Kings of Leon and Vampire Weekend. They also said that the entire setlist will be available from the beginning of the game and you won’t have to unlock songs as you go play.
Activision also released details about their new game modes known as Party Play and RockFest. Party Play will allows gamers to drop in and out of songs during the song progress which sounds rather strange to me but we’ll have to wait and see I guess. The RockFest mode will contain a series of scenarios which can be played either online or offline.
The final bit of information released was that Neversoft, creators of Guitar Hero World Tour, will be creating the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 versions of the game while Vicarious Visions will be developing the Wii version and Budcat will be creating the Playstation 2 version.
I only hope this next Guitar Hero game will be slightly better than Guitar Hero World Tour and actually contain a half decent setlist.
I actually really can’t wait!
