If you’re fed up of hearing about plastic controllers for games, you may want to look away now because another addition to the plastic collection has been detailed.

Guitar Hero 5 Drum KitThe upcoming Guitar Hero 5 drum kit is the latest controller to be announced  and will join the line up of games that will be coming with plastic controllers this year, which include, DJ Hero, The Beatles: Rock Band and Tony Hawks: Ride.

I personally am glad to see a new Guitar Hero drum kit because the first one released looked too light weight and not very durable, that’s the reason why I never bought one. However, this new kit has been improved to make it stronger and more easier to play.

Below are just a few of the improvements made:

  • The kit feet have been re-designed and now include a bar joining the 2 feet.
  • This bar will also allow the foot pedal to hook onto it, meaning the foot pedal won’t slide about while playing like it used to.
  • There is also more room for a second foot pedal which will make it easier when playing those tough Expert + songs.
  • The cymbols are now full circles to fully look the part and take a bit more of a beating, also, the stand for each of the cymbols has been beefed up to make it stronger.
  • You will also notice that the amount of excess plastic has been reduced.

This new drum kit will join the recently announced Guitar Hero 5 guitar which has been slightly redesigned and had it’s technology improved for better playing.

I will certainly be considering buying the Guitar Hero 5 band bundle when it’s released to upgrade my entire kit. It looks like The Beatles: Rock Band are going to have some stiff competition because Guitar Hero 5 is being released just one week before the new Rock Band game coming this September.

*UPDATE* This drum kit is actually being released with Band Hero and not Guitar Hero 5

  1. Nice upgrade, although i am not such a guitar hero fan and i prefer the real thing. At least this game focuses on quality music not on pop crap :)
