I discovered this awesome Wordpress plugin yesterday called Keyword Luv. Basically what it does is it allows you as a reader to get a link to your website with the keywords of your choice. It works like this:

YourName@YourKeywords
Example: Dave@Wacky Views

Then once you fill out your comment you will receive a Do-follow link back to your website with the keywords that you entered, brilliant!

Just remember, all comments written should be meaningful and not “fake” otherwise they will be deleted.

Thank you for installing this plugin — it really helps with SEO to have the right anchor text instead of being forced to either link with our names (which does not help much) or risk having the comment deleted. Although I have not yet gotten the KeywordLuv plugin to work myself, my blog at Karlonia.com is DoFollow for comments.

I discovered this nice little plugin a few months ago, but sadly my theme seems to be incompatible. This probably doesn’t matter much, however; people seem to be doing a good enough job of putting their keywords in the name field anyway :)

I also enabled nofollow and keywordluv. The main thing I don’t let get through are auto blog comments which are very obvious. Other than that I think this is a good movement and helps everyone.

Keywordluv is a great way to reward you readers for adding relevant conversation to your blog. The reader gets a valuable backlink for their contribution. Just watch out for people trying to abuse this great feature.

They Keyworudluv plugin is a great feature to have on your blog and will no doubt increase comments on your blog. The important thing to make sure if that people are not abusing this feature for a free link and are actually contributing to the discussion.

You do get an improvement in traffic, however, especially if you have dofollow enabled you get a large amount of spam comments coming in, which is ok if you have akismet but nobody likes spam :P

I really like the idea of keywordluv since it is a way to return the web back to being a collaboratives place. I think when you first put up your site you are excited and feel like your content will take over the world then you quickly realize that the only way to keep up there in search rankings is by building relationships with other webmasters.

I say this because no matter how great your content many will not link to you in fear of what types of practices you maybe involved in on the web or they just do not want to bleed their own page rank without getting anything in return.

Excellent post. Thanks for sharing this one.

The KeywordLuv plugin is great, as long as you moderate the comments. It is obviously used by SEO guys to get the anchored backlinks but not all of them are honourable to read the post first and leave a relevant comment. I use KeywordLuv and it has definately increased the comments i get. The extra moderation time is worth it i think.

I have come accross keyword luv before, but wasn’t aware it was being so widely used. Do we actually know if this helps improve backlink building? For example, are all blogs that allow keywordluv dofollow? I’m reluctant to add it to my blog, because of all the extra moderation, but I suppose if it help increase commenting then it might be worth it?

This tool is fantastic – a great way to show repsect to your readers and to encourage a bit of debate…sometimes people need a bit of a push/incentive to do so! I’m sure you’ll have seen traffic increase significantly though as a result, at least I hope so!
