80169D94 Xbox Live Error Code

Written by Scrooby on 3rd January, 2009

I have been recently having some fun with Xbox Live. I have been trying to buy some Microsoft Points via the Xbox website, but everytime I do so, since before Christmas, I get an error saying I can’t do this. So today, I gave up waiting, thinking it was a problem with their system, and I went down to the shops and bought a 2100 points card, bit of a pain considering I only want 500. Once I got home and tried to redeem the code online, it came up with another error saying I can’t do this. So, I sigh, and try it on my Xbox and this time it says some problem with Xbox Live Marketplace and it…

Just a quick post here to encourage everyone to go and check out the sales. I have just returned from Game and come back with the new Sonic Unleashed game for a great £20 and an even better bargain, I got the Alone in the Dark collectors edition box set for an amazing £6.98! Also, because of all the game bought in November, I had £7.50 on my Game card, so basically, I got the game for free. Just goes to show, you can really find a bargain in store if you look around.

As Christmas is over, the sales are all over the place, and they are great. All the great shops like Game, HMV, Currys, Comet etc, are all have great sales on video games, consoles and TVs. So now is a great time to upgrade your Television, get a new home cinema system, get a new games console, or just expand your games library at a cheaper cost. Some video game offers that caught my eye were on Game, there have lowered loads of prices, including Far Cry 2 which is now down to £18 on the Xbox 360 and PS3, saving a massive £32! There are also a huge number of new releases and great games that have been reduced…

Full Game Downloads Coming To Xbox 360?

Written by Scrooby on 19th December, 2008

Within an interview with Gamesindustry.biz, Peter Molyneux, maker of Fable, hinted that Xbox owners could soon see full game downloads coming to Xbox Live. During the interview, he said “I think it would be a great thing for this studio to work on. I can’t say anything else of it – I would be killed to death”. At the moment, you can download some games from Xbox Live and the Playstation Network, however, the games available are limited to older titles and ones that take up less hard drive space. Although some gamers may think that the idea of not having to leave your home to get your games is like a dream, the reality of the whole thing will…

Who’s Sold More, Not Even The Makers Know

Written by Scrooby on 5th December, 2008

It seems that this week Microsoft and Sony are trying to try and impress everyone with their sales figures. Yesterday on Eurogamer.net it was posted that Microsoft had said that they have sold more Xbox 360′s than PlayStation 3′s in all regions of Europe, even in places like Spain and France which are meant to be loyal to PlayStation. They also said that since their price cuts in September, Microsoft have recorded a 124% rise in sales since this time last year whereas PlayStation 3 have only increase by 3%. Now when you read this you think that Microsoft is doing some good sales. But then when you turn to the Game.co.uk website, it’s a different picture. On the Game…

My Problem with Power Assisted Suitcases

Written by Scrooby on 16th November, 2008

On Friday I found these new ‘Power Assisted Suitcases’ and they are pretty cool, basically, the idea is that in the handle of the suitcase is a pressure pad, and as you put more pressure on the handle, say if you were walking up a hill, then motors in the wheels kick in and help you out, which, apparently will make it feel like you are pulling a 3kg suitcase whatever the weight is; then as you go back down a hill, the recharger in the wheels recharges the batteries for the motors, pretty cool huh. But this is my problem with them. Surely, when you pull your suitcase up a hill you obviously put more pressure on the handle,…

Howard Brown hit hard by Lloyds TSB buyout of HBOS

Written by Scrooby on 25th October, 2008

It seems that the recent buyout of HBOS by Lloyds TSB has started to have some affect on the workers at Halifax, part of the HBOS Group. One person that it’s hit the hardest is Howard Brown, the bloke that sings and dances on a surf board in the Halifax adverts, it seems that he has resorted to binge eating due to the current financial difficulties. However, it’s not all doom and gloom, there is always light at the end of the tunnel, and for Howard, there’s always weight watchers. For all of you Halifax savers clutching your heart thinking what’s wrong with poor Howard, it’s not really Howard Brown, the man pictured on the right, which looks alot like…

Rick Astley nominated for MTV award!

Written by Scrooby on 2nd October, 2008

Amazingly enough, the 80′s pop star, Rick Astley, has been nominated for Best Act Ever at this years MTV Europe Music Awards. The producer of the MTV awards said to the BBC, “Rick’s fans have obviously decided that he deserves recognition as a pop icon”, so he obviously believes that it was the fans that wanted Rick to get the award, but is that true? Or, it is one big Rick Roll? According to this World of Warcraft Forum post, the whole thing is one big Rick Roll, with hundreds, if not thousands of people voting for Rick just from this forum post, plus some voters using macros throughout the night to vote for Rick. Well I wish them good…
