Xbox Live Won’t Automatically Sign In

Written by Scrooby on 8th June, 2009

I recently received my Xbox back from repair after I got the red rings. One I had got it back I noticed that it was no longer logging me into Xbox Live automatically when I load up the console. At first I thought I would get used to it but to be honest, I’m really lazy and can’t be bothered to manually log in every time I load up my Xbox. So after searching on the net and not having a huge amount of luck, mainly just finding ways to do it on the old Xbox dashboard, I spent some time trying to fumble around the settings and I have found an answer. You would think that the option to…

Xbox 360 Red Rings

Written by Scrooby on 26th May, 2009

Nothing seems to be going well for me today, it didn’t really go off to a good start when my Xbox 360 gave up while I was playing GTA 4. The screen went fuzzy, restarted, and I got the red rings and an E74 hardware issue message appear on my screen. I guess one good thing about this problem is that Microsoft actually recognize it as a problem and they have increased their warranty on this problem to 3 years instead of 1. However, there is a major downside to this problem occurring, it will take 2-3 weeks to repair it and sods law means that the console didn’t break down 3 weeks ago when there were no new games…

Horrible Parental Control Console Device

Written by Scrooby on 20th May, 2009

Technology has alwasy made gamers lives even better, but now it’s working against us and helping the parents in their attempt to get us off out consoles. The horrible device is called the GameDR which claims to be tamper proof and it fits around the plug of your consoles. Once it’s got it’s hands on your console plug it can then be programmed to have a count down timer which once up, shuts off the power to the console. What kind of monster would create such a product!? Although this is bad news, there is a warning noise when you only have 10 more minutes of play time which gives you 10 minutes to kick up a fuss and try…

Lingerie and Perfume at Zavvi?

Written by Scrooby on 16th April, 2009

I know Zavvi went into administration recently after christmas, but some time after, they somehow got back on their feet and are continueing to sell products, although I haven’t actually seen a Zavvi store recently. Well, for some reason I’m on the Zavvi mailing list, although the only thing I ever bought from them was in store, but anyway, I got this email said I get £3 off if I spend £30. But the thing this post is about is because in the email there was this image: It made me wonder whether Zavvi had changed their marketing campaign and put women in lingerie on their emails to grab mens attention, but it appears not. After visiting their website, it…

WoW April Fool: P1mp My Mount

Written by Scrooby on 2nd April, 2009

A rather good April Fools Day trick appeared on the World of Warcraft site yesterday, they advertised a new feature that would be coming to World of Warcraft in the next patch content. It’s called “P1mp My Mount!” and it allows you to change the colour, armour and add some wacky decorations to your WoW mount. Unfortunately it’s a good April Fool, shame they don’t really bring it in, would be a really awesome feature. Check out the full story at the World of Warcraft website.

What do people do with Blockbuster disks?

Written by Scrooby on 19th March, 2009

Ok so since Tom Clancy’s HAWX was released just under 2 weeks ago I have been down to Blockbusters atleast 3 times to see if they have it in stock, which they did not. Until today. So I get him home, put in into the Xbox 360 disk drive and…. ERROR, this disk is not readable, so I take it out give it a good clean, try again and I get the same error. This time, I take it out and look at it, and to my surprise, it has scratches all over it. Seriously, this game was released less than 2 weeks ago which means as you get games for one week, it has only been out to one…

Strange Age Ratings on Xbox 360 Accessories

Written by Scrooby on 28th February, 2009

A couple of new Xbox 360 accessories have been released to coincide with game releases, but once I got my hands on them, I found the age ratings to be pretty stupid. These accessories are the GTA 4 The Lost and Damned 1600 Points Card and the Xbox Live 12 Month Halo Wars Gold Subscription Card + 1 Month Bonus. To begin with, all other Xbox 360 subscription and points cards are not given an age rating, but simply because the 2 cards I’m talking about have the picture of the game on the front, they are given an age rating. I’ll start with the GTA Points Card, this is given an 18+ age rating, but why? Obviously it’s because…

Dairy Milk Eyebrow Music

If you just can’t get enough of the New Dairy Milk Advert, which features 2 school kids doing some freaky moves with their eyebrows to music. Well, you can get the backing track to this ad. The song used is called “Don’t Stop The Rock” by Freestyle. This track is available from Amazon, or if you are an Orange customer, you can download this track onto your mobile phone for free! Awesome! Hopefully Dairy Milk won’t “remake” this one as they have done with the other ads so far, by remake I mean, change the backing music. Amazon.co.uk Widgets

I just got a look at the newest and possible the strangest Dairy Milk advert. Their latest odd TV advert is slightly scary but hilariously funny at the same time. To view all the other adverts that they have made, check out the Dairy Milk advert site at www.aglassandahalffullproductions.com

My patience is being stretched by Microsoft

Written by Scrooby on 14th January, 2009

As I posted recently, I have had the purchasing section of my Xbox Live Account locked because my details were different to the ones on the credit card. So after I had found out about the error online, I changed my details to the correct ones, and then I called them, and after giving all my details, they told me to check my details were correct, which I knew they were, so I humoured them and checked them, and they were correct. Calling them again, they told me someone would phone back in 2 days, which they did. While on the phone for the third time, they basically said that all the details, even the first name must be the…
