If you haven’t yet played the new Grand Theft Auto 4 The Lost and The Damned content, this will hopefully try and persuade you into buying it, I’ll try not to give anything away about the storyline. I must say, this is some amazing new content.  With a whole new range of great new weapons, including the grenade launcher, automatic pistol, several types of shotguns aswell as many more. There are also a wide range of new vehicles, especially bikes, there is a huge amount of bikes that all look similar but with different names, because of all of the above, it makes it great fun as you can discover all of the new stuff available. As for the story,…

Skate 2 Review

Written by Scrooby on 22nd January, 2009

I got my Skate 2 on Xbox 360 today, and it’s awesome. Being a sequel to the best skating game, Skate, this new game would have to be good to beat the original, and boy is it good. Skate 2 brings everything from Skate 1, but it also throws in some extra awesome features. The first major feature would have to be the ability to get off your board and experience the world from a different view, plus you can get up steps to some great spots. The only downside to this is that it’s a bit rigid, the character doesn’t move very smoothly. This feature could have had some extra time spent on it, however, it’s still good. The…

Lord of the Rings: Conquest Review

Written by Scrooby on 17th January, 2009

One of the first big releases for 2009, Lord of the Rings: Conquest, has now been released. But I wouldn’t urge anyone to go out and buy it. I have only ever played the 3 main Lord of the Rings movie games on the Playstation 2, so when I saw the demo for LOTR: Conquest, I thought, meh this might be good. After playing the demo I was reasonably impressed, I thought it was an ok game, not the best, but it was playable, and because of this, I decided to rent the game rather than buy it. The first thoughts of the game were quite good. You get some nice snippets of movie and sound track from the films…

New Fable 2 Content Review

Written by Scrooby on 15th January, 2009

As soon as my Xbox Live account had been unlocked yesterday, I went straight onto the marketplace and bought the new downloadable content for Fable 2, so here’s my view on it. Before I say anything about it, I have to say, I think Fable 2 really did need new content, don’t get me wrong, it’s a great game, but the length of it and the lack of online multiplayer really doesn’t give the game any reason to carry on playing it. However, with the new content, it now does. To start your new adventure, you begin by speaking to Gordon the boatman, in Bowerstone Market, who kindly gives you a ride in his submarine, also, he gives you one…

Video Game Review: Sonic Unleashed

Written by Scrooby on 3rd January, 2009

As you may know, I said in a recent post that I had bought the latest Sonic game, Sonic Unleashed, and here is my take on the game. Every game has it’s good points and bad points, so lets start with the good. This Sonic game has to be the best one yet, with the ability to play as normal Sonic and then the werewolf Sonic, it’s like playing 2 different games. While playing as normal Sonic you have to battle your way through the fast paced missions just like the original Sonic games, but once the night comes, you transform into a werewolf and your whole mission style changes. It no longer becomes as fast paced, you generally have…

Need For Speed: Undercover Game Review

Written by Scrooby on 16th December, 2008

The latest ‘Need For Speed’ has got some poor reviews recently, but I don’t see the problem with the game. I got the game a few days ago, and have been playing it since, it’s great! With the awesome ‘Most Wanted’ title and then the poor ‘ProStreet’ game which was only good for about a day, the ‘Need For Speed’ title needed a pickup. And I think that this new ‘Need For Speed’ title is that lift. The game throws you into the action rather suddenly, the opening movie chase scene cuts you into the action part way through, so make sure you’re not drinking like I was. Overall, the game is alot like ‘Need For Speed: Most Wanted’ with…

Which Console To Buy This Christmas

Written by Scrooby on 13th December, 2008

With Christmas just round the corner, many children will be asking for a new games console this year. But which one is the best value for money and the best to buy? With the 3 main next generation consoles, Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and Nintendo Wii, all competing against each other, which one is the best to get? I’ll start with the Xbox 360. After a price reduction, the Xbox 360 now costs £130, making it the cheapest console of the 3 next gens. But, for the £130 you only get the arcade system which does not comes with a hard drive, so, what about the console bundles. As for the arcade system, you can get 3 games and 2…

Prince Of Persia Review

Written by Matteo89 on 7th December, 2008

When I first heard that there was a new Prince of Persia on the way I was excited after being a huge fan of the original Prince of Persia trilogy. I wanted to see what the next gen one would be like and i am sorry to say but I am extremely disappointed. That doesn’t mean that this is a bad game its actually an alright game. The new story is not that complex; you are fighting to keep the god of darkness banished. To do this you travel around the world banishing the darkness one section at a time. By the end of the game it gets very repetitive and boring. You also feel no real connection to the characters in this game. Now to the good part, the game-play. The acrobatics in this game…

Where has the Left 4 Dead demo gone?

Written by Scrooby on 4th December, 2008
Retweet

Well, after lots of people saying that the latest game by Valve, Left 4 Dead, was brilliant so I finally got round to downloading the demo. So; I logged onto Xbox Live, into the game marketplace, and after a long search, I couldn’t find it. Have they removed the Left 4 Dead demo? I also tried to download it via Steam but this was also unsuccessful. After some search on the web someone linked to the Xbox website where you could download it, but it took me to a message saying “This offer is not valid in your region.”. Can anyone tell me, has the demo been removed? And if it has, it seems like a strange thing to do,…
