As a fan of Batman, I was exited when I first heard there was a new game coming out, its been years since we have had a actual Batman game and this game does not disappoint. The last game that was released about the Batman series was the Lego Batman game, which, although it’s a great game, it’s not quite the same as a proper Batman game. The story of the game is based entirely around the Arkham Asylum. It starts by Batman apprehending Joker after he attacks the mayor’s office, he then returns the Joker back to Arkham. Once inside Arkham, the Joker springs his trap and with the help of Harley Quinn, he escapes and disappears into the maze that is Arkham Asylum. Your…
I have always found that renting games is one of the best ways to play the most recent games. It’s good for a number of reasons, whether you are a little bit strapped for cash at the time of release, or maybe you are just unsure about the game. Even if it’s neither of those reasons, renting is still a good option, my example would be with the Lego games, despite being really great games, they are short, and with no multiplayer, I find myself completing them in a number of days. So I would much rather pay £5 to rent it than have to pay £40 and have it sitting on the shelf. This aside, renting games isn’t perfect…
Getting this game was a spur of the moment thing, I never really planned to buy it but after quite a slow July for game releases, I just picked it off the shelf and went for it, and I’m glad I did. Not only are the graphics and weapons great, but the storyline is exciting and lengthy at the same time. You start off the game by viewing a cinematic action scene where special agent B.J. Blazkowicz (the main character and the role you will play in the game) is causing trouble on a German Nazi battleship. Within this cinematic Blazkowicz finds a special medallion with unknown powers. After this cinematic, you find that the medallion yields the power of…
I don’t normally buy the Xbox Live Arcade games, but recently there have been some popular ones to hit the store. The first one being Shadow Complex, the first arcade game created by Epic, the makers of Gears of War. When I played the trial of this, I didn’t think much of it, so with 1200 Microsoft Points burning a hole in my avatar’s pocket, I opted for the other popular one, Trials HD. Trials HD is a physics based motorcycle game where you have to ride through over 50 tracks, using your speed and posture to get over ramps, tires and lots of junk, all while avoiding the humorous explosives which send you flying if you mess up. The…
Since playing some Pro Evolution Soccer against the guys at FreshEgg on Friday, I felt like getting my hands on a football game for the 360. Since I haven’t had a football game since my Ps2, I thought it would make a change from the normal FPS games. Not really knowing which one to go for, I’d heard some things about Fifa 09 about how the graphics were better than Pro Evo and it was in general a much better game. Now that I’ve got my hands on it, I can agree, Fifa 09 is an awesome game. Not alot can really be said about the story, because there isn’t one, but it’s just like any other football game, you…
I’ll be honest here, I never thought that I would have gotten this game. Just the night before, I was saying to a mate that it didn’t sound like a brilliant game, however, when it came to Sunday afternoon, I fancied something new and a little different. So after heading down to Blockbusters, I returned with Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood, and I’m glad I did. The game is a western based FPS where you can follow the lives of 3 brothers, Ray, Thomas and William. Being a reverend, you are not able to play as William because all you would be able to do is stand around and complain at what your other brothers are doing. So for…
A new special Battlefield game has been released, Battlefield 1943. What makes this game special is because it’s a 100% downloadable game. All you have to do is pay for it online using either Microsoft points or real money depending on which console you’re using, and then the game is yours. Because this is a downloadable game, DICE wanted to reduce the size of the game, so it’s multi-player only. This means for Xbox 360 players, you will have to have a Gold account to be able to play the game. You might be thinking that if this game is only available via download, surely the quality is reduced? No need to fear though, even though it’s via download, you…
Yet another Guitar Hero game has been released this week, Guitar Hero Greatest Hits, some places are calling it Smash Hits, but it’s Greatest Hits on the box. The different thing with this Guitar Hero game compared to all the others is that the game contains absolutely no new songs. That’s because it contains the best songs from Guitar Hero 1, Guitar Hero 2, Guitar Hero 3, Guitar Hero 80′s and finally Guitar Hero Aerosmith. And although you may be thinking, “Why are they releasing all these songs again?!”, it’s a very good idea really. It’s good because the original Guitar Hero you cannot get on the Xbox 360 or PS3, plus many people that have bought Guitar Hero 2,…
When I first heard about the new Transformers game I was unsure after the epic failure of the first game. But as a huge fan of the films I saw the second film at the first showing and after watching the film and seeing how amazing it was, I decided to buy the game. But after playing the game I realised it is actually an alright game. The game begins with you choosing a side, you can choose the Decepticons or the Autobots. Personally I choose to play as the Autobots. You then move onto a simple tutorial level in which you play as Bumblebee and learn how to pull of the different techniques. The controls I found were simple enough to get…
I know this game was released back in 2007, but when it came out I rented it and my blog wasn’t up at the time. Now I have bought the game at a bargain price and with the sequel being released later this year, I thought I’d review it for anyone that hasn’t yet played it. When Battlefield Bad Company was released back in 2007, I was excited about it because the previous Battlefield game was Battlefield 2142 which featured no single player campaign and extremely long loading screens so in my opinion it was a bit of a let down. However, I was not disappointed by Bad Company when I first got it, and I’m still not tired of…
