Last Monday, Nintendo made Wii gamers aware that a new firmware update was available for download for the next-gen console. However, the transition to the new firmware hasn’t gone smoothly for some gamers. As with most firmware updates, the idea was not to bring trouble to the consoles, but to help improve the Nintendo Wii experience, without distrupting any current features. Although this was the idea, it didn’t quite go to plan for Nintendo. After the firmware update had been released, Nintendo received a rush of complaints from angry gamers whose consoles had died after downloading this update. Despite Nintendo blaming the problem to be caused by consoles that have been modified by the owners, many of the complaints are…
If you remember, back in August I posted about the newly announced Left 4 Dead downloadable content. Well today, with Left 4 Dead 2 less than a couple of months away from release, the second pack for the original Left 4 Dead game has been released for Xbox 360 and PC gamers. The new content, called “Crash Course“, will bring a brand new map, named ‘Crash’, which will of course be playable in single player, co-op mode, and online mode. Unfortunately, if your an Xbox 360 gamer, you are getting the worse deal when it comes to the DLC as you will have to pay. The fee for 360 owners will be 560 Microsoft Points, however, if you own the…
Have you been searching for a dedicated website where you can sell your used gaming items? There are various websites where you can buy and sell anything from toilet rolls to televisions, but the problem with these is that they come with fees for listing your items. These fees can really eat in your profits as they tend to be a percentage of your selling price. Fortunately, there is soon going to be an alternative for selling your gaming items. A new website called GamesTrader is being launched within the next few weeks that will allow you to sell any gaming items for free, that’s right, no charges at all. Whether you have an old console to sell, or maybe some…
The 2009 Tokyo Game Show has started today and some big news has already come out of Sony. Sony started by saying that the recently released Playstation 3 Slim had already sold 1 million units within the past 3 weeks, the price drop to £250 helped no doubt. After that, they announced another variation of the next-gen console. It’s not a huge difference, simply that it comes with a 250GB hard drive. The price of this new variation is around £285, whereas the 120GB Slim is £250, so not a bad price considering you get more than double the hard drive space. At release, the console will come with a variety of choices for additional games, the announced packages include…
The sequel to one of the best first person shooter games of 2007, BioShock, has been given an official release date today. 2K Games announced the global release date for BioShock 2 on the PC, Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 as February 9th, 2010. Previously, the game had been due for release some time before Christmas 2009, however, it was reported that some additional changes needed to be made to the game, forcing a delay, although it may have been that there are simply too many big name releases already set for release before Christmas that forced the delay. BioShock 2 is set around 10 years after the events that occurred in the first game which involved you discovering the…

Microsoft has announced today that the recently released Shadow Complex Xbox Live Arcade game has broken sales records. The game, that was developed by Epic, creators of the Gears of War series, was given the title of the most downloaded single-player title for Xbox Live Arcade. It was awarded this title after the number of downloads racked up to over 200,000 in the first week of release. Unfortunately for Epic, they were limited to being the best selling “single-player” game because just a month before, the overall sales record was taken by EA’s Battlefield 1943. Although this multiplayer game was available on both the Xbox Live Marketplace and the Playstation Network, giving them an advantage over Shadow Complex, they still…
After several weeks of speculation and rumors, Microsoft have finally confirmed that they are cutting the cost of their Xbox 360 Elite bundle console. They announced today that they will be cutting the cost of the 120GB Xbox 360 Elite console by $100 so it will now be priced at $299.99. They also announced that they will be cutting the 60GB Pro bundle by $50 making it $249.99, however, this price cut will only last until stocks last because Microsoft are currently phasing out the Pro bundle, despite it being their best selling console. Although Microsoft are cutting the Elite bundle by $100, you won’t actually save that much because they have altered the bundle ever so slightly. They will…
