A demo for the upcoming Green Day: Rock Band was released today on both the Xbox Live Marketplace and the Playstation Network. With this demo, also came a little teaser from Harmonix regarding the recently announced, Rock Band 3. The image that you see above is displayed when you close the demo. As you can see, there are the normal guitar, bass and drums logos. However, rather than the single microphone, there are 3, this is to represent the ability to have 2 back singers. The other new logo is that of a keyboard which would suggest that we’ll be seeing a new instrument with the release of the game. The vocal harmonies doesn’t come as too much of a…

Written by Scrooby on 19th December, 2009

A few years ago, Medal of Honor was one of the best first person shooter games you could buy, but then with the introduction of games like Battlefield: Bad Company and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, Medal of Honor seemed to disappear and their traditional World War 2 games were shadowed by modern combat. However, at the beginning of December, EA announced a brand new type of Medal of Honor game, one that looks to compete with the modern big guns of Call of Duty. After 10 years of the classic World War 2 games, EA are taking gamers to the front line of Afghanistan in a brand new first person shooter game where you will play as a Tier…

Rumours began a while back into a possible Green Day Rock Band game, however, these rumours we’re thought to be false when a Green Day download pack was released for Rock Band. Now it appears that in fact those rumours were true as yesterday Green Day Rock Band was officially announced. Just like The Beatles: Rock Band, this new game will come with customized characters representing the members of the band, which you can clearly see in the trailer below. The trailer below was originally posted on MTV.com but then removed. As you can see, one of their most popular songs, American Idiot, will feature in the game. More news regarding the game was released today, Harmonix announced that the…

A brand new web based service has launched this week called The Games Trader. The website, which has been in development and testing for several months, will allow you to buy and sell your old gaming items for free, without any listing fees. The Games Trader is restricted to gaming items only, this means that if you’re looking for second hand games or consoles, you won’t have to dig through a pile of pointless listings until you find the thing you want. What makes this website even better is that once you find the item that you want to buy, unlike other websites, you aren’t limited to paying for the item in person. The Games Trader allows you to use…

Left 4 Dead 2 Outbreak Video

Another video for an upcoming release has popped up this week. A new video has been created by Valve to promote the upcoming Left 4 Dead 2 game. Recently we’ve seen the release of part one of the Assassin’s Creed 2 short movie to support the release of the game. That video followed more of a serious note. Valve have gone for a little less budget, being set in a shed, and less serious video to help promote their game. Check out the video below and remember to pre-order your copy of Left 4 Dead 2 on PC or Xbox 360 before release on November 17th.

To help promote the release of the upcoming game Assassin’s Creed 2, Ubisoft have been creating a short movie. The first part of the movie has now been released onto YouTube. The movie is titled Assassin’s Creed 2: Lineage and it follows the events that take place before the story of Assassin’s Creed 2. You follow the life of Assassin Giovanni Auditore, the father of Ezio, the character you play as in Assassin’s Creed 2. Along with the 15 minute clip also comes this description: “When the Duke of Milan is brutally murdered, the Assassin Giovanni Auditore is dispatched to investigate. The answers he uncovers implicate Italy’s most powerful families reaching all the way back to the Vatican itself. As…

Battle.net Accounts Required for World of Warcraft Players

Written by Scrooby on 14th October, 2009

Blizzard has announced some changes to the World of Warcraft game that a number of players won’t be best pleased with. They have announced that as of November 11th, all World of Warcraft players will be required to sign up and access World of Warcraft via the Battle.net service. I first encountered the Battle.net accounts several months ago when I was installing Warcraft 3 for the first time. I found the service to be really useful as you can buy old games, as well as being able to download the latest patches for all of the games, all in one central location with just one password. Blizzard have been planning to roll out the requirement of having a Battle.net account…

Earlier this year at E3, Microsoft announced some great new features that would be coming to the Xbox 360 later this year. The first few features were released earlier this year back in August, of which included the games on demand service plus the addition of the avatar marketplace. Well now, about two months after that update, the next one has finally been announced, and it’s the one I’ve been looking forward to. The upcoming update will bring both Facebook and Twitter to the Xbox 360 dashboard, allowing you to tweet, update your statuses, plus, some new features that will allow you to share your gaming profile with your friends via the social networking sites. Although this latest dashboard hasn’t…

U2 Change Their Minds About Music Based Game

Written by Scrooby on 7th October, 2009

Aerosmith, AC/DC, Metallica, and most recently, The Beatles are the other internationally known bands that have had a music based game made after them. However, that list could have had, and still might now, another addition to it. Adam Clayton, bass player for U2, restarted rumours after he told USA Today how they are still intestered in becoming part of a Rock Band/Guitar Hero game. It was only around a year ago that there were rumours flying around about how U2 was all ready for a game release, until they changed their mind. However, after seeing what a HUGE success The Beatles had with their Rock Band game, U2 have changed their mind, funny how things go isn’t it. While…
