Take-Two’s crime based game, Mafia II, was released last week and although it hasn’t been out long, the game is already getting it’s downloadable content pack. The new pack will be titled “The Betrayal of Jimmy” and will be released on the Xbox 360 and PC on September 7th. As for Playstation 3 gamers, well they’ve already had been able to get a early taster of the add-on because the pack was released the same day as the actual game. In-fact, if you bought a new or used copy of Mafia II for the Playstation 3, you received the download pack for free. Unfortunately for Xbox 360 and PC gamers, when the pack is released next week, they will have…
Microsoft have announced today that they are releasing a brand new Xbox 360 controller. The new controller is going to be released in a matt silver with with grey buttons, rather than the original green, red, yellow and blue. The analogue sticks have also changed, each having a more exaggerated concave shape. That’s not all the changes though. The biggest changes come to the D-pad which transforms from the existing d-pad, which is more of a flush disc, to a popped out plus sign. To make this simple change, all you have to do is rotate the d-pad clockwise 90 degrees. You may wonder, what’s the point, it just does the same thing. However, Microsoft have a few suggestions on…
Microsoft have announced today, via Major Nelson, that the prices for the Xbox Live service will be going up on 1st November 2010. The price updates are going to take effect in the United States, United Kingdom, Mexico and Canada. The biggest rises go to the United States where all their subscriptions are being increased. The one month subscription will go from $7.99 to $9.99, the 3 month subscription will go from $19.99 to $24.99. The biggest rise comes to the annual subscription which is increasing by $10, making the new price (as of November 1st) $59.99. The United Kingdom, Mexico and Canada have got off pretty lightly, only the 1 month subscription price will be increasing. In the United…
In less than 3 weeks, gamers all round the world will be able to get their hands on the latest, and final, Halo game developed by Bungie. Halo: Reach is expected to be one of the biggest releases of the year on the Xbox 360, however, some gamers were able to download the game illegally earlier this month. The game was reportedly leaked after the game was made available to journalists from Microsoft’s online store. It was then spread across the internet to sites like The Pirate Bay and then downloaded hundreds of times by pirate gamers (not the eye patch, parrot fetish ones). Well now Microsoft are putting their weighty boot down and tracking down anyone playing the game…
Back in June of 2009, Crytek announced the release of Crysis 2, the sequel to one of the best and most graphical shooters of 2007. When they announced the game, they also announced that the game would be released across multiple platforms, the PS3, Xbox 360 and PC whereas the original game was released just for the PC. Earlier in the year, it was announced that the game, which was scheduled for an October release, was going to be delayed to improve the quality of the game play, although many thought that the reason was that it wouldn’t have to compete with big releases such as Halo: Reach and Call of Duty: Black Ops. Well today it was announced that…
Assassins Creed has always been a Marmite sort of game, you either love it or you hate it. Some say that it is too simple and doesn’t provide gamers with enough control. However, although I hate Marmite, I do love Assassins Creed and when I heard today’s news, it made me mega excited about the release of the latest game in the franchise later this year, Assassins Creed: Brotherhood. Assassins Creed: Brotherhood has joined the list of games that has been given the collectors edition special treatment. Set, for the same release as the standard copy of the game, the collectors edition will feature the following alongside the game: A Doctor Jack-in-the-box, that’s right a Jack-in-the-box! Not one you’d give…
Being named by the developers as “the end”, CodeMasters look to end their rally trilogy with a massive, and muddy, bang with the release of Dirt 3 in 2011. Just this week a brand new trailer was released for the game which shows off the wide range of areas and weather conditions gamers will be able to race around in the new year. The original Dirt game, which was released back in the summer of 2007, was targeted at more classic rally. However, many Dirt fans were disappointed with the second game in the franchise as the game was based largely around the X-Games and Monster Energy drink. In a hope to please all audiences, Dirt 3 will try and…
If you’re excited about the release of the upcoming Fable 3 game, well then you’ll love this. Lionhead Studios have released a new opening cinematic for the upcoming game which features a rather hopeful but unlucky chicken. Enjoy. It came as a surprise when Lionhead Studios and Microsoft announced that the latest edition to the franchise would be released for the PC alongside the regular Xbox 360 release simply because they never released Fable 2 for the PC. However, Lionhead Studios and Microsoft announced yesterday that the PC version of the game is going to be delayed. Although neither of them have confirmed a new date for the release of the PC version, however, Microsoft has confirmed that the game…
The new Halo Reach campaign trailer was released the other day and is entitled “The Battle Begins” and when I learnt of this when sitting in my little office space I couldn’t wait to get back on the Xbox and have a look at it! I will confess to being very disappointed by what I was playing when it came to Halo: ODST but Reach is looking fantastic. I played the Reach Beta from the second it was released here in the UK and despite what I thought was going to be another disappointment I was amazed at what the guys at Bungie had done. This is going to be one of the biggest releases of the year if not…
A demo for the upcoming Green Day: Rock Band was released today on both the Xbox Live Marketplace and the Playstation Network. With this demo, also came a little teaser from Harmonix regarding the recently announced, Rock Band 3. The image that you see above is displayed when you close the demo. As you can see, there are the normal guitar, bass and drums logos. However, rather than the single microphone, there are 3, this is to represent the ability to have 2 back singers. The other new logo is that of a keyboard which would suggest that we’ll be seeing a new instrument with the release of the game. The vocal harmonies doesn’t come as too much of a…
