I saw this advert on the TV yesterday and just had to stick it on the site, it’s great. The advert is to promote the launch of new Currys and PC World megastores which are opening in the UK. Watch what unfolds when R2-D2 and C-3PO discover one of these brand new stores! It says on the Dixons website (owner of both PC World and Currys) that this advert is part of a brand new marketing campaign, so hopefully we’ll see more of the robotic fair soon. www.youtube.com/watch?v=cVjTBHEnj04

Chillingo, publisher of the massively popular Angry Birds game, have been very busy in the last few days climbing their way to the top of the iPhone and iPad app charts with their latest game. Cut the Rope is the latest game from the publisher and it combines simple game play, intelligent physics, candy, bubbles and green creatures, this winning combination has earned the game top of both the free and paid app charts. The aim of the game is to get the candy into the mouth of the green creature that just arrived on your doorstep in a box. Although this may sound simple enough, to get a higher score, you need to hit the 3 gold stars and...

In 2007, Portal was released as part of The Orange Box, alongside Half Life 2: Episode 2 and the revamped Team Fortress 2. The game instantly became a hit with gamers, often higher rated than the other games available in The Orange Box. Although the game itself was only considered a ‘trial’ by Valve when they released it, due to it’s massive success, it’s prompted the Half Life series developers to create a sequel, Portal 2. The sequel was announced in March earlier this year and is set for release early next year. If you’re a fan of the Portal game, you’ll most likely know all of that above, however, did you know that Jinx.com, the gaming clothing company, has...

If you have read some of my previous posts within the past year, you may have noticed that I am a big fan of the music games, in particular Rock Band. I have always found Rock Band to be a personal favorite over the likes of Guitar Hero: World Tour. However, what they have in game quality, is not matched in peripherals. The only thing that I have found to not like about the Rock Band games is the guitars. I can’t quite put my finger on the problem but they are just not the same as the classic Guitar Hero 3 ones. As for the drums, I love the drums, they are a brilliant piece of gaming kit. That...

Walking through the shops today, I saw, and bought, a really neat gadget holder from Red5, the gadget shop. Oddly enough it’s called the Handy Gadget Holder, and it’s so brilliant. It cost me just £7 to buy and will hold most types of gadgets, whether it’s a phone, iPod or a TV remote. All it is is a pair of hands in the position that can only be described as if they were playing a gameboy. All you do is slot your gadget in there and you know exactly where it is, whenever you want it. I’m currently using it to hold my iPod Touch which is particularly useful as if you are listening to music, you can easily...

Everyone’s favourite triangle crisps, Doritos, have released a brand new flavour, unfortunately, I can’t actually tell you what flavour that is because it’s a mystery flavour. It’s called the iD3 flavour currently, whether that will change once the flavour is guessed, but Doritos have created a whole new competition and game based around this new mystery flavour. With each pack of the iD3 flavour you buy, you get a special code which gives you 6 lives, this is where the game part comes into it. They have created an online game where you enter this code, which grants you the 6 lives, and you can guess at the mystery flavour. If you guess the mystery flavour correctly, then you will...

I am always looking to increase the amount of comments on this blog and I had seen this plugin before, plus after a couple of commenters had recommended it, I decided to install it. The plugin is CommentLuv, and what this does is, it gives the commenter a link back to one of their latest blog posts, if they have a blog that is. So, how do you benefit from this plugin when commenting? When you leave a comment, you are given the option of putting in a web address that is linked via your name in your comment. But, when you enter that address, the CommentLuv plugin scans the address to find a blog feed, and if it finds...

And so I’m back, from outer space…. well, not quite outer space, although it would be faster to get to. I have returned from my Christmas holiday in the sunny Australia. I must say, Australia is a fantastic country, and Sydney is a great city. That’s where I started my holiday, in Sydney, mainly for sight seeing and shopping really, and there’s lots of both. I visited the Sydney Opera House, fortunately, I didn’t see an Opera. I also climbed up the Sydney Harbour Bridge, legally of course. You get strapped on with what is basically a ball and chain in a jump suit, and then you have to start the rather long journey up several ladders and many many...
