We all know that Activision always go crazy with big bundles when they release a brand new Guitar Hero game, however, this craziness has never really spread to any of their other games. Until now.
Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 has now inherited that craziness with it’s 3 different game bundles. The bundles were announced via a YouTube video by Robert Bowling, from Infinity Ward, who detailed all 3 of the packages.
The first bundle, which isn’t really a bundle because it’s just the standard game, is perfect for anyone that wants to grab the game and play. For those of you that enjoy looking at all the art work, there is the Hardened Edition.
The Hardened Edition is basically a normal special edition game. It comes with the usual stuff, a metal case, an art book and finally a download code to get the original Call of Duty game on the PC, Playstation and Xbox 360. This bundle is being priced at around $80.
The final edition is just like the Gears of War 2 bundle that came with a life sized lancer, what I mean is, it’s insane. The Prestige Edition is the king of bundles because it contains everything that comes with the Hardened Edition, but you also get a very special extra. That special extra is a fully functional pair of night vision goggles, that’s right, Activision have gone mad.
Along with your working Call of Duty branded night vision goggles, you also get a sculpted head that you can strap the goggles to for display purposes when you’re not wearing them.
This does sound amazingly good, but it all comes at a price. If you really want your pair of night vision goggles, you will have to fork out an extra $70 on top of the Hardened Edition, so making it $150. This is certainly not cheap, but no doubt Activision will get many sales out of it.
So if you’re into gaming and are also in the market for a pair of night vision goggles, then the Prestige Edition is for you, however, if your not, I would still buy the Prestige Edition.
Currently there aren’t any UK shops offering pre-orders for anything but the standard edition, however, with the release of the game on November 10th, hopefully we’ll hear some news from the retailers soon.
