Blizzard Entertainment LogoIt appears that Blizzard, creators of the hugely popular World of Warcraft game, are not telling us something about some secret projects of theirs. It’s been reported that Blizzard has filed several applications with the United States Patent and Trademark Office, each one of these application includes the word ‘Cataclysm’.

In all there are 3 applications that cover a range of uses:

  1. Computer games and Mouse pads
  2. Online games
  3. Comics, Strategy Guides, Greeting Cards (no idea why they would want greeting cards), manuals, as well as a range of other uses.

No one knows what this means or what they plan to use the word ‘Cataclysm’ for, however, Blizzard did announce earlier this year that they are working on a new MMORPG to follow on from World of Warcraft, maybe ‘Cataclysm’ has something to do with that?

It’s all very exciting. I guess we’ll all just have to wait and see.
