Hi I'm Dan (aka Scrooby). I'm an 18 year old gamer and full time Web Developer for FreshEgg. Most of gaming tends to be on the Xbox 360 mainly because I love the achievement system. My favourite games are mainly FPS games, Halo, Gears of War and Call of Duty are particular favourites. However, I'll play pretty much all genres of games, anything from Guitar Hero 5 to Lego Harry Potter, they're all great!

We all know that Activision always go crazy with big bundles when they release a brand new Guitar Hero game, however, this craziness has never really spread to any of their other games. Until now. Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 has now inherited that craziness with it’s 3 different game bundles. The bundles were announced via a YouTube video by Robert Bowling, from Infinity Ward, who detailed all 3 of the packages. The first bundle, which isn’t really a bundle because it’s just the standard game, is perfect for anyone that wants to grab the game and play. For those of you that enjoy looking at all the art work, there is the Hardened Edition. The Hardened Edition is…

Take-Two Delay Bioshock 2

Take-Two Interactive has announced that they will be delaying the release of Bioshock 2 until their 2010 fiscal year which is between November 1st 2009 and October 31st 2010. Just like when Batman Arkham Asylum was delayed, the reason for delaying is “to provide additional development time for the title.” The previous release date for the game was November 3rd, just 4 month away. Before you question the date because it’s technically within their 2010 fiscal year, Take-Two always considered this game to be within their 2009 fiscal year because they would have received sales of the game before November 3rd. With this news of a delayed release date also came modifications to Take-Two’s projected earnings for their 2009 fiscal…

Battlefield 1943 Game Review

A new special Battlefield game has been released, Battlefield 1943. What makes this game special is because it’s a 100% downloadable game. All you have to do is pay for it online using either Microsoft points or real money depending on which console you’re using, and then the game is yours. Because this is a downloadable game, DICE wanted to reduce the size of the game, so it’s multi-player only. This means for Xbox 360 players, you will have to have a Gold account to be able to play the game. You might be thinking that if this game is only available via download, surely the quality is reduced? No need to fear though, even though it’s via download, you…

Left 4 Dead Premium Xbox Theme

Written by Scrooby on 11th July, 2009

Earlier this week I posted how you can get a free Left 4 Dead Premium Xbox dashboard theme when you buy the Official Xbox Magazine. Well, on the way back from the airport, I picked up my copy and got my free theme. I was slightly confused when I went to buy the magazine because when I picked it up, the cover was based on the upcoming Splinter Cell Conviction game. The reason it confused me was because at the beginning of the week I had read and seen pictures that the cover would in fact feature a Left 4 Dead cover. Anyway, after scouring down the features of the magazine and reading “Left 4 Dead NXE Theme!”, I handed…

Guitar Hero 5 Features Detailed

Written by Scrooby on 10th July, 2009

A huge amount has been said about the upcoming The Beatles: Rock Band game, especially at E3 this year where there was a huge section of introduction and showing gameplay. However, how about the competition? Guitar Hero 5 is also be released in September, only one week before the release of The Beatles game (a tactic by Activision to try and get more sales of their game over Rock Band). It appears to me that not a huge amount has been said about the great new features that we will see in Guitar Hero 5. There are a couple of massive new features in Guitar Hero 5 that we have never seen before in any previous music games. The first…
