Guitar Hero 5 Guitar BundleActivision were very busy yesterday announcing lots of new details about the upcoming Guitar Hero 5 game. There has already been a great deal of news regarding the new controllers that are being released, as well as some of the awesome new features. For example, the ability to play the game with more than 1 of the same instrument, which is a particular favourite of mine, no more fighting for who gets to go guitar!

Well, yesterday the publisher announced 2 things. The first was the last remaining 15 songs out of the massive 85 song track list. The second thing is for Xbox 360 players and I’ll talk about that further down.

  • Wolfmother – “Back Round”

My initial comments about the awesome looking setlist would be: It really wouldn’t be a Guitar Hero game without Queens Of The Stone Age, Why oh why more Nirvana, but atleast they have one of their half decent songs, and finally, I am pretty pleased to see some Rammstein finally being included.

Now for the second announcement, like I said, this is an Xbox 360 only feature because it allows you to instead of creating a new in-game character, you can use your Xbox 360 avatar to use in the game. I can only assume that if you choose to use your Xbox 360 avatar within the game, it automatically changes the other characters as well. Otherwise it might look a little strange to see your Xbox avatar next to Axel Steel.

I simply can’t wait for this game to be released with all it’s new features and great new Guitar Hero instruments, this game might be the first Guitar Hero game that is better than Rock Band. Just as long as it’s not like Guitar Hero World Tour!
