I have been recently having some fun with Xbox Live. I have been trying to buy some Microsoft Points via the Xbox website, but everytime I do so, since before Christmas, I get an error saying I can’t do this. So today, I gave up waiting, thinking it was a problem with their system, and I went down to the shops and bought a 2100 points card, bit of a pain considering I only want 500.
Once I got home and tried to redeem the code online, it came up with another error saying I can’t do this. So, I sigh, and try it on my Xbox and this time it says some problem with Xbox Live Marketplace and it gives me the error code: 80169D94.
After some looking at the Xbox forums which proved to be no help, I Googled this code and found the following result.
Here is the fix. The error indicates that you xbox live purchasing functions have been “locked”. To unlock ensure that your personal details, name, address, etc precisely match your credit card details in terms of both content and capitalisation. Call xbox phone support and advise you have made this change and ask them to kick the problem to the credit department. Wait 24-48hours and miracle your account works. Happy “xbox live-ing”.
So thanks to Gallp13 for this answer, and it seems you can’t even enter bogus information on your Xbox Live account anymore.
No you can’t! Unfortunately they do everything they can to catch you out!
