A few years ago, Medal of Honor was one of the best first person shooter games you could buy, but then with the introduction of games like Battlefield: Bad Company and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, Medal of Honor seemed to disappear and their traditional World War 2 games were shadowed by modern combat.
However, at the beginning of December, EA announced a brand new type of Medal of Honor game, one that looks to compete with the modern big guns of Call of Duty.
After 10 years of the classic World War 2 games, EA are taking gamers to the front line of Afghanistan in a brand new first person shooter game where you will play as a Tier 1 Operator. A pretty much unknown part of the U.S forces, they will take on any job that they get.
The hand selected team of game designers at EALA have been working closely with Tier 1 Operators from the U.S. Special Operations Community to create the most authentic first person shooter available while still being inspired by real life events. The team at EALA will be working on the action packed single player campaign, however, they have teamed up with the multiplayer experts at EA DICE to create an outstanding multiplayer mode to accompany the single player campaign.
Sean Decker, the general manage of EALA and the man who also hand picked the team to make this new game said this about the latest game in the Medal of Honor franchise: “EA has always been an advocate for telling the soldiers’ story. The new Medal of Honor follows that tradition. We felt it was important to tell the story of today’s war and today’s elite soldiers via today’s most relevant medium – video games. We are so proud to bring together two powerhouse development teams to make this game a reality; EA Los Angeles and EA DICE. Medal of Honor promises to be an unforgettable entry in the modern shooter genre.”
With all this in mind, I am really excited about what the geniuses at EA will bring to gamers in their latest game. No release date has been set so far, however, it’s said to be around Autumn 2010, can’t wait!

A brand new web based service has launched this week called The Games Trader. The website, which has been in development and testing for several months, will allow you to buy and sell your old gaming items for free, without any listing fees.
